With the aim of modernizing railway stations, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme ' in February this year and decided to modernize 508 railway stations across the country. It is noteworthy that Tuni railway station is one among them. The foundation stone was laid virtually by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 6th August 2023.
The program was held at Tuni Railway Station on August 6th, 2023 under the super vision of Sri. Muni Reddy, Railway Nodal officer, Vijayawada Division. Students of Sri Prakash presented shiva tandavam a classical dance on this occasion as a part of cultural programmes.
Earlier, to mark this occasion, various competitions with the theme ‘Desh aur Railways mey -kya Acha ho Rahaa Hai’ (what is good happening in Railways and in our country) were organized for the students of different schools in Tuni by the Vijayawada Railway Division. Students of Sri Prakash, D. Rohan Madhukar and N. Bhavya of grade IX and G. Krishna Chandana of grade X bagged First, second and third prizes respectively in English Elocution.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Kottu Satyanarayana felicitated the winners with medals, shields and certificates. Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party State Vice President Vetukuri Suryanarayana Raju and Tuni Municipal Chairperson Eluri Sudharani were the chief guests of the program.
