The day started with a blazing determination in the early hours as the dusty sand wore the form of a gutsy willow. The sand art form has its grace well sculpted in the premises of Sri Prakash, which encourages the sand art in a novel manner.
With great expectations on the occasion of the world cup inauguration at Dhaka on 17 Feb, the students of Sri Prakash wished the Team India All the Best in a novel manner. India is already on song with two back-to-back wins in the practice matches against Australia and Newzealand. Prakashites dedicated a huge sand bat of 33 feet to Dhoni’s boys. 33 Prakashites under the guidance of Lovaraju faculty member created this wondrous willow out of three tonnes of sand.
Their sand sculpture attracted many a passer by. The campaign inspired 10,000 people and cricket enthusiasts, most of them being Prakashites themselves to etch their signatures on the banner, wanting the Men in the Blue in every way to restore the World Cup to India. They pepped up everyone around with Chak De India and Jay ho. The whole endeavour lasted from dawn to dusk.
The sand willow has stood in the Sri Prakash like a cynosure as JOSH, the anniversary is drawing nearer to be held on 21st Feb. The Management, Principals, and Faculty members joined the gusto of the young artistes to wish India all the luck and pluck in the World Cup.
The world renowned Sand Artist Sudarshan Patnaik who visited Sri Prakash last year as a Guest inspired the Prakashites to aim high in the rare sand art. The Prakashites are always quick enough to find a right occasion to vent out their artistic expression.
