For experiencing the beautiful art of weaving, the students of Grade VI visited the Payakaraopeta weavers cluster Payakaraopeta weavers cooperative cluster Ltd for Production and Selling’ , in Mangavaram Road , Payakaraopeta .Sri Robbi Subrahmanya Prasad, Manager of the Society detailed the group of 80 students and Teachers, the intricacies of weaving as the students experienced the feel of the silk sarees produced there. The artisans who were weaving sarees, demonstrated how the weft and warp of threads are interlaced to get the desired design on the saree. Miss. Padmaja the authorised designer creates the designs to which the weavers weave the sarees. These Uppada sarees, are named Jamdani sarees for their unique pattern of designs. The students could interlink their learning of social studies lesson on various occupations to the field trip. They could also visualise how the ancient art of weaving is relevant even in the present society.
