Objective: To get awareness on oral health

As a part of our school curriculum,we have an " Athidi'' Dr. P.Naresh B.D.S ( Bachelor of Dental Science) Satya Dental Clinic, Tuni) He explained the parts of a tooth, types of teeth and their functions. He showed pictures of teeth with different tissues. He demonstrated the right way of brushing the teeth using model teeth. He also asked a few students to present the right way of brushing by giving a brush and teeth set. He advised the children to brush their teeth twice a day for two to three minutes. He suggested taking a peanut sized amount of paste for brushing. He told white coloured pastes are preferable than different coloured and flavored pastes for healthy teeth. At the end, he answered the questions of children on Dental care .

Christmas eve was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal at Sriprakash, Tuni. The kids were more excited about the celebration of the fest. Our tiny tots of Kindergarten spread the essence of Christmas spirit by dressing up as Santaclaus and angels. A few students brought the festive mood to the campus with their mesmerizing carols on Jesus.The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was not only amply visible on the faces of the children during the decoration of the Christmas tree but also reverberating in their carols and dancing to the tunes of jingling Merry Christmas.

On the occasion of 135th Anniversary of Sri Srinivasa Ramanujan, the National Mathematics Day is celebrated @ Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan. We invited Mr.P.Rajesh Raju, SPJC IIT Mathematics faculty as a guest to grace this occasion. He addressed the gathering and gave career guidance in Mathematics. He suggested the children to have a regular reading of formulae and practise to get rid of the  fear of the subject. . He clarified the doubts asked by children. All the students from Grade 1 to 5 participated enthusiastically in the celebration and gave their best to present the projects given to them.  We conducted different competitions such as recitation of multiplication tables, relay, Quiz, which help them to build team spirit, improving speed, accuracy, critical and logical thinking skills. Winners received prizes from the guest.

Students need several skills to improve and succeed in their life and career. Sriprakash provides  a slew of such opportunities to students  to hone their creative best. Children's Carnival was organised at the Tuni campus, involving the students from Nursery to 3rd class on the theme- "Seasons we Experience".  Children prepared different art and craft exhibits depicting the relevant things we use in different seasons such as winter, spring, summer, monsoon and autumn. A few exhibits were prepared to depict the climate in India during these seasons. Children actively explained to all the visitors in the carnival the seasonal festivals we celebrate and the seasonal fruits we relish.  They also enjoyed the activities on parent-child bonding like mehandi, ice challenge and uppu bastha, exclusively for parents and children. Children showed their craft skills by making print-on-hand kerchiefs and greeting cards, using sponge and stensil print. Children made money-banks, pen stands and flower vases, reusing the paper rolls and made some money too by selling them out. They also tried a hand at making cane baskets in a live stall put up for the day.  A good variety of Creative Carnival should have encouraged the children to understand the importance of crafts and artistic presentation in our lives.  Sri Ch.V.K. Narasimha Rao, Secretary and Correspondent and Smt Rama Sita, Treasurer of  SPES viewed the exhibits and lauded the smart team skills of the students. Senior Principal Mr. M.V.V.S. Murthy and the other heads of Sriprakash Educational Institutions paid a visit to the Carnival.

We have Atidhi programme of Grade – 2 to understand the importance of body parts. We invited Alumni of Sri Prakash Doctor M. Sireesha MBBS, CCEBDM interacted with the students and made them understand the external and internal parts of the body from head to toes. She made every child to involve and encouraged them to share the functions of each part and their importance. She informed the students to take care of their body by doing simple things regularly such as brushing, bathing twice in a day, trimming nails and cleaning hair once or twice in a week. Eating balanced diet at regular intervals make them away from the doctor. She also made the children understand the importance of the sense organs eyes, nose, ears, tongue and skin. Children have a wonderful learning with this interaction.

We have an Athidhi programme for grade-4 on communication. We invited Sub Postmaster, Mr. P.Varahala Babu, Ammajipeta, Tuni i. He shared about the personal communication through post. He explained postal services all over India. He shared that there is a Post office for every 500 people in every village of India. People can write letters to their friends and relatives on Postcards, Envelopes and Inland letters for their personal communication. They can send greeting cards and invitation cards through post by affixing the stamps based on the weight. People can send urgent messages through Speed Post, E-post and Register post. And also they can track it's status. People can send money through money order. People can send gifts, books etc to people in India and all over the world. He also explained about different saving accounts in the Postal System. Children have an interactive session with him.

Pre primary children have an Athidhi programme Mrs. M. Kavitha ,MBA. Who did diploma in Montessori has taken up a story telling session to children.She started the session with a rhyme. Then narrated moral stories using stick puppets.Her narration with gustures, dramatization, voice modulation and expressions made the children enjoy . Children could identify the plot and characters of the stories.The titles are "Magic Lamp" and 'Sharing is Caring' The morals are 'Be happy with what we have' and " we should share our things with others'She has conducted an activity and made the children do it along with her.Then she explained the morals and how they can connect to their real lives. Later, she asked questions on stories. All the children could respond well.

As a part of the lesson 'Food and Nutrition the children visited the paddy fields at Ramabhadrapuram. They have observed the paddy fields that are cultivated .  Mr. Lakshman Rao The farmer working in the field elucidated the different stages in cultivation  of paddy. First, preparing the soil through ploughing and watering the fields. Next, sowing the seeds and watering the fields at regular intervals. Later, when the plants are grown up to 2 cm, they separate the plants and plant  4 to 5 plants together. Then the weeds are removed from the fields. They use fertilizers to get more yields. At last they harvest the crops after 90 days. He also demonstrated the harvesting of the crops. The students experienced the harvesting of crops with his support. The students observed the rice grains and understood the grains are used as seeds too. The students observed other plants   around the fields such  as chillies, pumpkin, sapodilla, coconut, banana and papaya. They have understood the hard work of farmers from dawn to dusk and thanked them.
