The 11th edition of SPANDANA, a creative festival, which started on 28th Dec came to an end on 30th Dec in a glittering Closing Ceremony, celebrating creativity at its best for three thrilling days at Sri Prakash Vidya Soudham, Payakarao pet. The mini Youth Festival with more than twenty events in five categories—literary, arts, dramatics, dance, music test the mettle and wits of Sri Prakash U G and P G students contestants from SPACES Institute for P.G. Studies, SPACES Degree College, Sri Venkateswara College of Education and Primary Education.
The closing ceremony started at 4.00pm on the final day. Sri K Veerraju, Convenor, Spandana came up with the final report. In this spell of SPANDANA, a total number of nearly 600 students have contested. He congratulated all the participants and hoped that all students would learn valuable lessons from such high level competitions positively.
The Special Guests were Prof Velagapudi Uma Maheswara Rao, Registrar, Andhra University and Smt ¬P Naga Ganga Kranthi, ABN Prime Time News Reader, who is a fine product of Sri Prakash who studied here from 2003 to 2006 in the SPACES Degree College.
The Special Guest Prof V Uma Maheswara Rao in his address exhorted the students to sharpen their creative thinking at the earliest at school and college. They should grab each and every opportunity at this level itself to find out the best within. He warned the students that any delay here in the present globalised competition might mean irretrievable delay costing them a dear career.
PANEL DISCUSSION
The other Special Guest, a former student of SPACES Degree College, Smt PNG Kranthi emphasized on power of expression and planned study of whatever students would do to excel not only in their career but in life as well. She felt she owed a lot to her studies at Sri Prakash as she was interested in such extra curriculum. She could not wait to perform on stage and regale the audience as she would when she was a student here.
Ramya, a B.Ed trainee, Rushi Patel, III B Com, Soundarya, III Comps and Daniel were the cynosure of attention as the Students Guests. The Panel Discussion on ‘Social Networking—its effects on youth’ with the student guests, moderated by the exacting moderator, Sri B Viswanatharao, an engineer-turned-teacher, must have given a few new insights not only to the active participants but to the probing audience as well.
CALENDAR RELEASE
There was an electrifying final session in which eleven best dances were adjudicated in the evening to decide the top prize winners. All the performers were very much excited anticipating the best in their favour. The judges themselves went through a tough time of deciding the winners.
Sri Ch Vijay Prakash, Joint Secretary of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, gave away winning trophies to the winners and honoured the Student Guests and the Special Guests with mementoes. Undoubtedly the three days have turned out to be an inspiring world of action and spirited competition at its best.

DANCE HUNGAMA
SPANDANA 2012, the enchanting spell of a Creative Festival, has, for sure, electrified the first of the three days 28th, 29th and 30th of this cool December. This edition or spell of SPANDANA has been encouraging in every way, giving the right platform for all the enthusiastic contestants, especially the student guests—G. Pravin Kumar, III M C A, from SPACES Institute for P.G. Studies, Smt Madahavi from Sri Venkateswara College of Education, Ch. Sirisha, III B Sc (Chem) and V. Bharath Kumar III MP Comps and K Mohanamba, III BZC from SPACES Degree College, to realize their potential that is present within.
To start with, on the first day – 28th Dec – Sri K Veerraju, Convenor or the 11the edition of SPANDANA and Principal-in-charge of SPACES Degree College along with the other Heads of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions and the typical student guests lighted up the lamp as a mark of inauguration.
The novelty was a Panel Discussion with the student guests on TODAY’S EDUCATION—MAN MAKING OR MONEY MAKING, moderated by Sri VVS Bangarraju, Director, Sri Prakash Institute for PG Studies. Later in the question time the press reporters, teachers and students questioned the student guests and the answers were the best examples of life skills in the personality development of youngsters.
Coming to the competitive action—the essay writers were very sharply thought provoking and the debaters were heated up for good presentations. The pattern of Debate was changed to suit the international demands. Elocution was a real test for the contestants’ nerves. JAM tried to catch them unawares, but it proved to be refreshing. The skits were evoking and enlightened each and every one. Monoaction checked the eloquence of articulation and Tech Presentation enabled the participants to voice out their creative persuasion.
SPANDANA is sure to lend all the contestant students some invaluable ideas on how to get through such power packed competitions with demanding life skills which are the fine points or core qualities they have to draw from SPANDANA to make their true friends through out life.

SPACES Degree College Hosts Chemisymposium ‘12
SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta in Visakhapatnam District conducted the 4th edition of CHEMISYMPOSIUM, a one-day National level State level Seminar on MOLECULAR SPECTROSCOPY TECHNIQUES & ROLE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN PHARMACEUTICAL DEVELOPMENT on 16rd Dec Sunday. As many as 300 student delegates from various degree colleges around in the four districts of Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari partook in it.
The Guest Speakers on the occasion of the Inauguration were Professor A. RAMACHANDRAIAH, Dept. of chemistry, National Institute of Technology, Warangal and Sri M. PANJATCHARAM, General Manager, Quality Assurance, Ranbaxy Labs Ltd, Delhi.
Thereafter in the ensuing technical sessions, masterly power point presentations enlightened the aspiring participants. Prof A. RAMACHANDRAIAH gave a presentation on how we related to chemistry in our day-to-day life and why we cannot do away with it. Sri M. PANJATCHARAM explained the changes that have been taking place for the last 60 years
Later the Guest Speakers followed it up with question sessions in which the students participants had a very highly useful interactive clarifications from the eminent subject authorities.
The ensuing sessions held a lot for the student delegates in Poster presentations and a Quiz competition. It had been an enduring test of wits for all the participants who came up with novel ideas well depicted with creative ease. The Guest Speakers themselves judged the best presentations and the winners were awarded cash prizes at the end of the Chemi symposium 2012. Sri K. Veerraju, Principal-in-charge, proposed a Vote of Thanks.
Sri Ch Vijay Prakash, Joint Sectretary, thanked the Guest Speakers for their valuable observations and appreciated the creative efforts of the student delegates. He also stressed the need for such subject Seminars to improve competencies and employability of the aspiring students in professional fields.
‘ROARING TALENTS’ PASS OUT WITH FLYING COLOURS.
The five-day long Rim Zhim (Roaring Talents) ended ceremoniously with the valedictory function, bringing a lot of memories and expectations all alive.
The Guests on the dais were the students themselves who proved their talents both in administration and teaching on 5th September, on teachers’ day.
The Child Guests Miss. B. Maheswari, a student of X, Sri Prakash Residential Model School, Miss. Ch. Keerthana, a student of X, Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, Tuni, Miss. Nikhila Shireen, a student of X, Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, Rajahmundry, Miss. B. Lakshmi Lohitha, a student of X, Sri Prakash Synergy School, Pedda Puram, Master. D. Vijay Bhaskar, a student of X, Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, Payakarao Peta and Master Dheeraj Kumar Agarwal, a student of X, Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, CBSE wing Payakarao Peta, participated very sportingly and showed their skills in a lively Panel Discussion on the subject “THE PERSONALITY TRAITS NEEDED TO BECOME SUCCESS IN ONES LIFE”.
While presenting the convener’s report, Sri. Paresh Kumar Dash said that “Rim Zhim” is an inter-school competition of Sri Prakash Schools in Tuni, Payakaraopeta, Peddapuram and Rajahmundry. Competitions are held in 13 disciplines for Sub Juniors, 23 disciplines for Juniors, 23 disciplines for Seniors & 8 disciplines for Super Seniors in theatre arts, music, literary, fine arts, SUPW, quiz, Sudoku, power point presentation and games & sports.
Sri. M.V.V.S. Murthy, Senior Principal, Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan believed, “A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” He specially thanked the unseen hands that are responsible in moulding a bright future of the children.
Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash, Joint Secretary, Sri Prakash Educational Society, addressing the gathering emphasized the students to have faith or belief in ones talents. He aptly quoted, “Belief is one of the most important bricks in any successful venture.”
Parents who attended the closing ceremony expressed their opinion that children should be given such an exposure to exhibit their skills of “Event Management”, as it is the tradition of SRI PRAKASH to give reigns into the hands of children.
Whatever the Joint Secretary, Sri. Ch. Vijay Prakash, wished during the opening ceremony, the participants proved that every year their enthusiam in both participation and presentation of various skills would definitely multiply.
The students bid farewell to Rim – Zhim with a promise to all the spectators that definitely the 9th edition of the kaleidoscopic Rim Zhim would be of more added colours.
