RULES & REGULATIONS
I. MUSIC
1. CLASSICAL VOCAL SOLO (HINDUSTANI / CARNATIC)
- Item can be presented in either Hindustani or Carnatic style.
- b Maximum No. of accompanists are TWO.
- Time allotted for each is not less than 8 min. and not more than 15 Mts.
- Film songs are not allowed.
- Judgement will be based on qualities like Swara, Tala, Selection of Raga,
- Compositions and general impression.
2. GROUP SONGS
- Two group songs should be presented by the same team out of which one will be a folk song.
- Each group should consist of a maximum of 6 members.
- Maximum number of accompanists can be 3.
- The group song should be taken from Indian songs, which can be of any regional language.
- Lyric of the songs to be submitted before 28th Dec. 2012 to the Program Coordinator for scrutiny.
- Maximum time allotted for each group is 10 Min. and the maximum setting time is 10 Min.
- Judgement will be based on quality of singing only and on make up, costumes of all boys or all girls.
- The team should consist of all boys or all girls.
3. LIGHT VOCAL SOLO
- Only ONE participant is allowed.
- Maximum Time allotted is 8 Min.
- Film Folk Songs / Ghazal / Bhazan / Shahbad / Adhangas can be presented.
- Lyric of the song to be submitted before 28th Dec. 2012 to the Program Coordinator for scrutiny.
II DANCE
1.GROUP DANCE.
- Maximum No. of participants allowed per team are 10.
- The dance can be either tribal or folk or western.
- Duration of dance should not be more than 10 Min.
- Two copies of a brief note giving the theme and the text, if any, is to be submitted before 28th Dec. 2012 to the Program Coordinator for scrutiny.
- The participants should bring their own instruments etc., and remove them quickly as soon as their programme is completed.
- The team should consist of all boys or of all girls.
- Judgment will be based basically on the qualities like Tala, Technique, Rhythm, Abhinaya of Expression, Costumes, Footwork, General Impression, etc.
2. GROUP DANCE (LIVE)
- Maximum number of participants allowed per team is 10. The team may consist of all boys or all girls but not mixing of both.
- The number of accompanists permissible is five.
- The Dance can be either primitive or a folk dance (Indian Style) but not a classical one.
- Duration of dance should not be more than 10 minutes.
- Time for change over is only 5 min.
- The participating team will be responsible for the removal of their set properties, etc., immediately after the competition of their performance.
- Recorded audio will not be permitted.
- Two copies of a brief note giving the theme and the text, if any, is to be submitted before 28th Dec. 2012 to the Program Coordinator for scrutiny.
- Judgement will be based on the basis of rhythm, formation, expression, costumes, makeup sets and overall effect.
3. CLASSICAL DANCE (SOLO)
- Classical dance can be only of the approved schools of dances such as Kathak, Kathakali, Bharatnatyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, Odissi, etc.,
- Each participant will be allowed up to 15 Min. including time for preparation, exit etc.,
- Maximum 3 accompanists are permissible.
- Two copies of a brief note giving the theme and the text, if any, are to be submitted to the judges before the programme.
- Judgement will be based basically on the qualities like Tala, Technique, Rhythm, Abhinaya of Expression, Costumes, Footwork and General Impression etc.
III. LITERARY EVENTS
1. QUIZ
- Each team should consist of 3 persons.
- There will be a preliminary screening test and finally 4 teams will be selected for the final.
- The final will be Oral and may consist of Audio, Visual Questions also.
- The specific rules regarding evolution procedure and conditions will be given before the actual start of the competition.
- The team should consist of all boys or all girls, who should attempt the screening test with all the team members answering the same paper.
2. JAM
- Each participant will be given 1 Min. Time.
- Medium of expression can be in English or Telugu.
- Anybody passing personal aspersions on any religion, caste, creed, person or party will be disqualified.
- Judgement will most likely be made on qualities like matter, delivery, diction and impact created.
- 5. Topic will be announced before one hour of the competition.
3. ESSAY WRITING
- Maximum time allotted is 30 Min.
- It can be written in English or Telugu.
- Topic will be announced before one day of the competition.
- Judgement will be made on the qualities like matter, narration etc.
4. DEBATE
- Each team will be represented by 2 debaters in argument type.
- Max. time for the pair is 6 Min.
- 3. Topic will be announced one day before.
- Medium of expression will be either in English or in Telugu.
- Anybody passing personal aspersions on religion, caste, creed, person or party will be disqualified.
- Judgement will mostly likely be made on qualities like matter, delivery, diction and impact created
- Each participant has to submit one copy of the matter to the judge before the programme
5. TECH PRESENTATION
- Each participant will be given 10 Min. Time and max. slides should not exceed 8.
- Medium of expression can be in English or Telugu.
- Anybody passing personal aspersions on any religion, caste, creed, person or party will be disqualified.
- Judgement will most likely be made on qualities like style, matter, delivery, diction and impact created.
- 5. Topic will be announced on 24th Dec. 2012.
6. SCIENCE EXHIBITS:
- The showpiece or exhibit should be prepared prior to the show and displayed during the exhibition.
- A team should consist a maximum of three members.
- A team can present any number of exhibits.
- Judgement is based on its cost effectiveness and utility(working models preferred).
IV.THEATRE ARTS
1. TRIVIA
- Maximum numbers of participants permissible in each team are 8.
- Maximum time allotted for each team is 20 mins.
- The group should present 3 different items in the allotted time (eg.-skit, mime, groupdance or any such theatre art event). Skit is compulsory as one item.
- Use of make-up, drapery and background music is allowed.
- Theme in printed form to be submitted before 28th Dec. 2012 to the Program Coordinator for scrutiny.
- No personal remarks, aspersions, character assassination, etc are allowed.
- Maximum No. Of accompanists permissible is 3.
- The item will be basically judged on the qualities like teamwork, co-ordination, acting, stagecraft and general impressions.
- The team should consist of all boys or all girls.
2. MIME
- Maximum No. Of 6 participants are allowed to participate in this team.
- Only ONE accompanist is allowed.
- Maximum time allowed for each team is 5 Mins.
- Judgement will mostly likely be based on the qualities like idea, creativity of presentation, use of make-up, costumes, music and general impression.
- Theme in printed form to be submitted before 28th Dec. 2012 to the Program Coordinator for scrutiny.
- The item should consist of all boys or all girls.
3. MONO ACTION
- 1. Maximum time allotted is 6 Mins.
- 2. Only ONE accompanist is allowed.
- 3. Use of make-up, drapery and background music is allowed.
- Theme in printed form to be submitted before 28th Dec. 2012 to the Program Coordinator for scrutiny.
- 5. The item will be judges basically on the qualities like action, modulation of voice etc.
4. MIMICRY:
- Each participant will be given a maximum time of 10 Min.
- Preference will be given to those who can mimic a wide variety of sounds.
- The dialogues in the mimicry should be dignified and socially enjoyable.
- Judgement is based on the quality of sounds and general impression.
5. SHORT FILM:
- Maximum No. Of 5 participants are allowed to participate in this team.
- Maximum duration allowed for each film is 5 Mins.
- Final Film should be handed over to the concerned program incharge by 5pm on 29th Dec. 2012 on a CD in Windows Media Player Compatible Format.
- Judgement will mostly likely be based on the qualities like idea, creativity of presentation, use of make-up, costumes, music and general impression.
- Film should be completely shot afresh and no film or other video mixed or edited.
- Topic for Short Film will be announced shortly.
- The team should consist of all boys or all girls.
V. FINE ARTS
1. ON THE SPOT PAINTING
- The item will be conducted on the spot with the participants having to paint on the subject given by the in-charge of the competition.
- The duration will not be more than 2 ½ hours.
- The size of the painting will be half imperial size
- The painting can be done in oil, water, poster or postal colours.
- The participants should bring their own material..
2. CARTOONING
- The item will be conducted on the spot on the given subject/ideas.
- The duration will not be more than 2 hours.
- The participants should bring their own material.
3. COLLAGE
- The item will be conducted on the spot on the given subject/ideas.
- Maximum time is 2 hours.
- The participants should bring their own material like colour papers, scissors, glue, etc.,
4. RANGOLI
- The item will be conducted on the spot on the given subject/ideas in a given fixed size box.
- Only colours should be used.
- Salt and rice should not be used.
- The duration will not be more than 2½ hours.
- It will be judged on the basis of the theme, number of colours used, neat outline and overall impression.
- The participants should bring their own material.
5. ON THE SPOT PHOTOGRAPHY
- The participant has to bring his/her own digital camera of not more than 12 mega pixels
- The digital camera should have a memory card which will be formatted by the judges before the commencement of the contest
- The time limit will be 2.30 hours
- The participant has to capture 5 photographs on the theme announced on the spot by the judges.
- No mixing, matching or morphing of photographs will be permitted.
- Software such as Photoshop etc. for enhancing images not permitted.
- The organizers will have all rights for the use of these pictures as and when they deem fit.
- Digital images are evaluated on the basis of (1) IMPACT, (2) COMPOSITION (3) TECHNICAL QUALITY, and (4) SUITABILITY for the specific theme.
- The additional instructions will be announced on the spot.
6. S.U.P.W. (SOCIALLY USEFUL PRODUCTIVE WORK)
- The showpiece or exhibit should be prepared prior to the show and displayed during the exhibition.
- The exhibit should be prepared using waste products only.
- Each participant is allowed to prepare only one item.
- Judgement is based on its cost effectiveness and utility.
