Sri Prakash Vidya Soudham, Payakaraopeta radiated festive splendour as JOSH, a creative festival, was well set to regale 12,000 spectators on 28 Feb. It is not a mere celebration, but the very essence of cultural competitive spirit that today’s students at all levels from KG to PG positively need to sharpen their power of expression.
Sangeetha Kalanidhi Padma Vibhushan Mangalampalli Bala Murali Krishna was the Chief Guest of the gala occasion. Dr S Vijaya Kumar, CMD, Vijay Nirman, Vizag, Sri Srikanth Addala, Film Director, Col S R Sriram, Group Commander,NCC Kakinada, Dr Saraswati, Director, Vipanchee Natyalaya, Chennai, and Dr C V Narasimham, Principal, NSTL School, Vizag were the Distinguished Guests who adorned the stage on the splendid occasion.
The programmed started with VANDEMATARAM. In the FLAG HOiSTING ceremony Padmavibhushan Bala Murali Krishna hoisted the National Flag, Dr S Vijaya Kumar unfurled the Sri Prakash Flag and Dr A Prasanna Kumar hoisted the Sports Flag. The commanding March Past was a highlight. Colonel Sr Ram inspected the parade and took Guard of Honour.
Students themselves conducted the proceedings. The Live commentary on…Pyramids,Yoga, Rhythmic Exercises, Mallakhamb, Legumes, Dhillana, Stick Wielding (Karra Samu) was electrifying.
In the Swarna Pushpaabhishekam that followed the Mangalampalli Bala Murali Krishna was felicitated. Sri K R J Sarma, a retired Telugu Pandit dedicated the Sanmana Patra. While giving his message the Legendary Carnatic Classical Exponent felt that the youth should relish the age-old values and relish fine arts so that they can inherit the real heritage of Indian culture. Earlier Dr C V Narasimham, Principal, NSTL, Vizag, who was the recipient of the National Best Teacher Award from the President of India had been felicitated. In his message he exhorted all the students to live to their full potential and give their best to the world to gain back the same from every corner.
Sri S Vijaya Kumar looked into the practical way of thinking and positive mindset students are supposed to inculcate from the younger days. Col Sri Ram in his message praised the way the whole programme was conducted and appealed Sri Sri Kanth Addala appreciated the efforts taken by Sri Prakash and underlined the importance of all round development Kalaimamani Saraswati felt that without leaning a fine art one’s education would not be complete. Sri Ch V K Narasimharao in his address called for clarity in decision making which can help students excel in their venturesStudents from Primary to PG level displayed their talents with 10 carefully chosen cultural items. JOSH WELCOME NUMBER endeared the audience with melody, stirring dance and appealing art. There after what followed on stage was what every Indian should cherish about their motherland—Indian history in a nutshell from the ancient Vedic Period to the achievement of Indian Independence.
The voice over was rendered by Sri M V V S Murthy, Senior Principal, SPVN. The Indus Valley Civilization depicted the heights of urban life in ancient times when the world civilization was crawling. The Vedic Period drew the little performers to perform a Yagna. The episodes on Alexander, Chanakaya and Chandragupta displayed how a world conqueror could do nothing against patriotic integrity. The Gautama Buddha episode highlighted the humanity in a different perspective—how people could be right in every way. The viewers the grandeur of the Golden age of the Guptas was enchanting. The Bhuvana Vijaya of Sri Krishna Deva Raya regaled the scholars around. The Bhakthi Movement took the visitors into divine raptures. The sultans and the Mughals depicted the pros and cons of the Middle Ages. The advent of Britishers and our Freedom Fight against them must have made every youngster think that ultimately what is right is the might in all good.
Prizes were given away for academic excellence and extracurricular brilliance like winning six prizes in the Andhra University Youth Festival and so on. The Memorial cash prizes were distributed to encourage the talent and excellence in sports and games and competitive exams were hightlighted on stage. Later all the distinguished Guests were honoured with mementos. The highlight of JOSH 2013 Sri Ch Vijay Prakash, Joint Secretary of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, felt that undoubtedly JOSH has turned out to be an inspiring world of action and thanked everyone who had contributed to make it a jubilant success.
