Science has always been intriguing right from the conception of the big bang theory till the present era of technological advancement.
This subject, if taught and learnt in an interactive manner with the resourceful reference to one’s environment, can be understood so easily as to help one in developing and nurturing analytical skills.
We conducted a science exhibition on 27th February. Groups from 1st to 5th Standard participated in these celebrations. They experimented and discussed the different exhibits finely created. Some students had prepared interesting Charts, used for explaining a number of topics. Many students who observed the show were very much interested in the show and were curious about the exhibits.
Kids’ Day 2010, the Sri Prakash Primary School Anniversary, was grandly celebrated on 8th Jan at Sri Prakash Vidya Soudham for the school pupils from LKG to V. The cultural fete was a well planned mega event with all the primary children actively participating in various events.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Sri Darapu Nagireddy, a master practitioner in NLP and the Parent Guests were Smt Devarakonda Sridhara Visali, Head Mistress, Girls High School, Tuni and Sri Sadhanala Srinivasa Rao, an executive in marketing.
The Chief Guest in his speech stressed on the commanding communication skills and indispensable discipline if students want to really succeed not only in studies but also in such scintillating competitions, which lead them to a Sound mind in a Sound body. Smt Visali in her message urged the students to develop moral thinking besides respecting their elders and teachers.
Another Parent Guest Sri Srinivasa Rao exhorted all the students to develop winning qualities like courage, confidence and competence right from their formative primary years. Sri Ch Vijay Prakash, Joint Secretary, SPES, requetsted all the parents to avoid junk food for their children. Further he stressed that children should be freely allowed to make mistakes while learning, which will lead to well directed experiential learnng.
Later Sri Vijay Prakash honoured the Guests with special mementos. A Cash award of Rs 1000/- was given away to the winners of the Inspiration column in SNAP, which is the official news chronicle of Sri Praksh. Academic Rankers in Sri Prakash Telugu and English Medium schools were given out prizes. Prizes were also distributed to the best display in the science exhibition competition that had been held in the afternoon. Later the much awaited cultural items performed by Primary Kids fascinated and regaled the viewers.
