As part of our school curriculum we have Dr. N. Deepthi ( MBBS D.O.,D.N.B) Ophthalmologist in Government hospital (Tuni) as Athidhi for Grades- 4 to 8. She started the session with some interesting questions and showed the structure of an eye as well as explained its parts and their functions. Children learned about " Blink Reflex" and its importance. Dr. Deepthi showed electrical eye chart, made children read it and created awareness about long sightedness also known as hypermetropia and short sightedness also known as myopia. Dr. Deepthi enlightened the students with the importance of eye care and regular checkup. Children had awesome interaction with Dr. Deepthi. She addressed the doubts of the students about eye inflammations, eye infections, kinds of precautions to be taken, diet for good eye sight etc., Finally the programme came to an end with the learnings shared by a few students. At the end of the session, Proctor Mrs. B. Prasuna Mouli felicitated the guest with a book memento.
