An Inspirational and Motivational Interaction…
As part of Athidi to address the students of Grade-5, we invited the Havildar, T.Suresh, who is working in the Indian Army. He joined the Indian Army at the age of 17 from the rural village Ramabhadrapuram, Andhra Pradesh. He started his career as a soldier in 2004, after 6 months of base training at Jammu and Kashmir.
He explained the different departments and the roles of officers. He made the children understand the weapons that the soldiers use and the way they patrol and protect at the borders.
He shared that our Indian army consists 15 lakh active personnel and 2000 officers among whom 700 are women officers. He enlightened the students on the selection process of the India Army.
* Aspirants must pass +2 exam. Then they have to qualify in the NDA (National Defence Academy) exam. They should be able to speak Hindi and English.
* Self-discipline and physical fitness play an important role in the selection process.
Finally, he suggested the students play outdoor games and have healthy food for their fitness.
