As part of Athidhi, we invited Mrs. T. Devi, a home maker as our guest to prepare a healthy vegetable sandwich and she interacted with the children about its nutritious values. She explained about each and every ingredient and the nutrients present in it. The brown bread, which has lot of fiber and low sugar content was used to make it instead of the bread made of Maida. The Children of Grades – 1 to 4 took part in this Athidhi program. They were very excited to watch the preparation of sandwich and eagerly answered the questions about the ingredients. A few children of Grade – 4 made vegetable sandwiches at home and brought for display. These children explained their way of making the healthy snacks. Grade – 3 children expressed their learning about Micro nutrients and macro nutrients. Finally all the children tasted the delicious healthy vegetable sandwich made by the guest.
