Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan-Tuni, celebrated “Pongal”, the harvest festival on the eve of Sankranthi. The school ground was filled with enthusiastic children enjoying music and dancing to it. Our tradition and culture was followed in each and every activity of the celebrations. A few to mention were the Haridasu keerthanalu, Kite decoration, Bommala koluvu, Bogi Mantalu followed by pooja performed by our students. Teachers prepared pongal in earthen pots on bricked stove using fire wood and offered to Sun god. Children created Rangoli patterns resembling Dhanurmasam muggulu were praise worthy in the celebrations. In this celebration Mrs. Ch.Rama Seetha, Treasurer of Sri Prakash Educational Society took part and blessed the kids on the occasion of Bhogi pallu. This celebration was indeed a wonderful activity for our students to know our tradition and culture better.
