Yatra-Grade 5: Let’s be Aware of Banking

Learning outcome: Gain insight into the functions of a bank.
        As part of Yatra students of grade -5 were taken on a visit to The Vishakhapatnam Co- operative Bank of India on 13/08/2024 to have hands on experience in banking transactions which comes under their curriculum of Financial Literacy. "Credit in Financial system", The Regional manager of the bank Mr. Chinna Rao addressed the children and educated them by providing the required details such as opening of an account and shared differences between saving account and current account, types of deposits and explained fixed deposits & Recurring deposits. The children come to know different types of loans like educational loans, gold loans, Agricultural loans, and how to use  credit and debit cards. He also shared that all banks follow the guidelines of RBI (Reserve Bank of India).
Mr. K.Satyanarayana, committee member of the bank shared the main objective of the services of banks to the public. The apps provided by them and the way we can use them.
The students had a good exposure through this visit which was evident from the number of questions they raised on the guidelines and functioning of the bank
