Learning outcome:
Knowing the services of fire fighters and the basic steps to rescue the people in case of fire.
Grade – V students were taken to the fire station, located in M.R.Peta, Tuni. Mr. K. Ramudu, fire officer and his team demonstrated the causes of various fire accidents and how to stop them. They informed the students to call 101 in case of any fire accident in their neighbourhood.
They also explained the steps to be followed in different types of fire accidents as follows...
1 When the fire is caused by petrol or kerosene...
Pour sand over it to put off the fire. Don't use water.
2) When any person's clothes catch fire...
First cover the person with thick blanket or carpet and
then leave the head uncovered or make the person roll on the ground,
3) When the fire is caused due to electricity...
First turn off the main switch immediately and
then use fire extinguisher to put off fire.
The fire fighters exhibited the equipments like fire extinguisher, ladder, light tube, lifebu Asoy and life jacket, by using which they rescue the life of the people.
Our children learnt the basic steps to be taken in case of fire and understood the role of fire services in the neighborhood.
