In Sripraksh Vidyaniketan – CBSE- Tuni Grade-5 students organized elections to elect their class monitor in today's CCA periods.Some children took initiative to file their nominations in elections. Student candidates selected symbols and names for their parties such as T.S.D, Jayasena, E.C.D, Pratigna. The contesting candidates came up with their unique ideas to campaign for their parties. All the documents were prepared to keep records of votes for example voter ID, ballot box, ballot papers. The purpose of conducting class monitor elections is to make children aware of casting votes, election system ,secret polling method and postal voting. Students also learnt about the use of indelible ink after casting the vote. Teachers played the role of election commission. Students experienced how elections are conducted in a democratic country. Grade-4 students served as volunteers in the process of election.
