As part of YATRA, the Grade-6 and 7 students of SPVN CBSE TUNI visited the weavers co-operative society on the Mangavaram Road, P.R.Peta. Here our zealous explorers observed hand looms and how they are operated. There are many ways by which fabrics are made from yarn, like knitting, crocheting and weaving. Here the children observed the weaving pattern on handlooms. They understood that for weaving 2 sets of yarn are required to make a fabric. Here the looms are operated by hands. It takes at least one or two weeks to prepare a fabric based on the design. The children have come to know that they get silk fibres from Bangalore and the dyeing process will be completed in Peddapuram or Dharmavaram. Finally, our children couldn't help wondering the hard work of weavers.
