Sri Prakashites Shine Bright at IMD's 150th Foundation Day
Sri Prakash students of class 8, D. Vyshwanth and T. Mohan, secured the first and third state ranks in an online exam conducted nationwide by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi, in celebration of its 150th Foundation Day. Established in 1875 in Calcutta and relocated to New Delhi in 1944, IMD provides crucial weather information to various sectors such as agriculture, aviation, shipping, and irrigation.
The selected students were invited to the final level offline exam at IMD, New Delhi, on 13th January 2025. State rankers received cash prizes, shields, and certificates at a ceremony held at the IMD office in New Delhi. A special highlight was the invitation to the 150th Foundation Day inaugural function by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, followed by a sumptuous lunch at Bharat Mandapam on 14th January 2025. The winning students were congratulated by the correspondent Ch. V. K. Narasimha Rao, Joint Secretary Ch. Vijay Prakash, Senior Principal MVVS Murthy, HM D. V. Srinivas, the teaching and non-teaching staff.
