Many stalwarts of theatre and the Celluloid attended the inauguration of the 10-day workshop on theatre at SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta. Movie artiste SK Misro, Sri D Subrahmanyam, Theatre Director, New Delhi, Sri RJ Pantulu, Skit Writer cum Director, Sri Sai Pattepu, Kumari Sangpingchoyi, Thailand, actor and Director were the eminent artistes who participated in the inaugural celebration.
After the lighting of the votive lamps, Cine Artiste Sri SK Misro, in his address, welcomed the novel gesture of conducting such a workshop at Sri Prakash. He opined that everyone has inborn acting skills, which act as soft skills for youngsters to be at their best in the world. He added that acting adds to great practical learning. He exhorted the youngsters not to be carried away by the unwelcome trends shown on TV and in movies. Understanding the society itself is acting which can make youngsters understand life skills better.
Sri D Subrahmanyam opined that acting makes youngsters proficient in presentation skills and in the way of life itself. RJ Pantulu was excited to start this Workshop on Gurajada Apparao Pantulu’s birthday today. He encouraged that Telugu, being the Italian of The East, helps the enthusiasts to perform well in dramatics effortlessly. The modern man is fortunate to be blessed with expressive language, unlike the primitive man. Hence, it is a great privilege to learn this art presentation professionally.
Sri Ch Vijay Prakash, the Joint Secretary felt that it is the responsible challenge on the part of the young enthusiasts to bring back the luster and splendor of the theatre. After the ten-day workshop, there will be a presentation of a play by the participants. The special guests were honoured with mementos later. Dr K Veerraju, Principal-in-charge, Sri MVVS Murthy, Senior Principal, SPVN, Sri ARVL Narayana, Cultural Cordinator, SPACES Degree College were present in the grand celebration.
