The children acted as Mangal Pandey, Rani Laxmi Bai and Tantiyatope many other children as the narrators explained the reasons and different phases of the epic event. Next to the room were the displays on Swadeshi Movement of 1905 with slogans of Vande Mataram, echoing in the air.    The Jallianwala Bagh massacre came to life when General Dyer ordered the soldiers to open fire at the unarmed peaceful protesters who were gathered at the Bagh . The Gandhi era was lively with the childhood photos of Bapu, and the models of the charkha, the Sabarmati Ashram, Indigo Plantation and the salt pit of Dandi. The room was full of Mahathma Gandhi and  Satyagrahi’s. Next to it was the Quit India Movement of 1942 and its presentations. The character of Subhash Chandra Bose energized each visitor with his slogan- “tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe Azadi doonga” (Give me blood and I will give you freedom). Finally it was the day of our independence with Lord Mountbatten, at the back drop and Jawaharlal Nehru giving the famous midnight speech, “The Tryst with Destiny”. The room was complete with all the rare photos from the archives. Then there were the displays of models of monuments representing each state and union territories. Care was taken to ensure that no two models were the same. Maximum use of scrap from school was done to emphasize the use of recycling.   Most importantly, the involvement of  students in each and every work in the entire project was more emphasized. All the students, as many as, from LKG to 7th class were involved in some work or the other.  While some were presenters, some helped in making models. A few others made the arrangements in the rooms and helped with making photo frames. Earlier in the morning the national flag had been hoisted by the Guest of Honour Sri Sankarao, S.I-Tuni. He inspected the parade and took guard of honour. In his ceremonial address, He exhorted the children to emulate the freedom fighters who sacrifice the life for our precious Independence. Principal Sri M.V.V.S. Murthy drew the children’s attention to the fact that real independence means realization and self reliance which student should develop right from schooling.
