Sri Prakash Vidya Soudham is decorating itself with all necessary facilities for hosting South Zone under 19 and under 14 Boys and Girls Hand Ball Tournaments among seven southern states i.e. Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Cluster VII under 19 Boys and Girls Basket Ball Tournaments among three states Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka from 14th to 18th of this month.
On talking to Sri. Paresh Kumar Dash, convener, it is given to understand that around 70 teams from 35 school participating for Hand Ball and same number for Basket Ball offered their stake to become champions in the both the games. Elaborate arrangements are being taken for boarding and lodging of the team members, coaches and their members. To finish up the matches as per the schedule flood lights are also arranged to give the experience of watching day and night matches. A disciplined team of teachers and non-teaching members are given the responsibility of looking after the hospitality of the visiting teams.
Four Hand Ball Courts and three Basket Ball courts are prepared according to Olympic standards without compromising. All the matches are being played under the guidance of the umpires from Sports Authority of India to ensure a fair and healthy playing atmosphere.
Senior Principal Sri. M V V S Murthy opined that this type of competitions would definitely help the children to overcome the tension and help to develop competitive spirit among the children.
Sri. Ch. Vijay Prakash, Joint Secretary, Sri Prakash Educational Institutions believed atleast each child should spend two hours a day in the play ground and emphasized that OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILD is Sri Prakash Educational Institutions’ motto.
