The department of zoology was established in 1993 with an aim to provide quality education to study and contribute for the development of animal science at zoological studies to the rural learning community
Through the study of zoology you gain an understanding of the natural world and how to maintain the zoological chain .It also offers an opportunity to consider the various ways to face global challenges such as climate change and food security,trying to find solutions to help both animals and human alike.
Zoology is the study of animals wherein the students receive a highly comprehensive exposure to all levels of animals functions and their diversity.As a subject it creates enormous interest in us as we are also a part of the animal kingdom.Thus,understanding the development and evolution of animals help us to explore ourselves better in this stream .Students dwell at a deeper level about how animals are integrated component of the ecosystem.Animals also have a major impact on our economy either as a competitor in our food or as parasites influencing the quality of public health.
The knowledge of animal forms and their physiological functions open the gateway to applications in a number of exciting and innovative fields . In recent years the study of both fundamental and applied zoology has induced keen interest in student researchers and animal science based industries .The subject has a keen ability to grab the attention of the academic world bio-diversity conservation,formulating ecological fate guards and to apply Bio-technology and Bio-informatics to the field of Bio-medical and Paramedical sciences.
