The people of Payakaraopet had every reason to be proud of felicitating an eternal “work smith” in the name of Sri Ch.V.K. Narasimharao, Managing Director of CALF, who is actually well-known as an educator owning Sri Prakash Educational Institutions in Visakhapatnam and East Godavari Districts. But the felicitation was not in recognition of his Academic Services. It was for his unique underlining of the Indian legacy of developing Dairy Farms- integrating the clusters of villages with satellite Dairy units through which dairy farming can be scientifically elevated to respectable lucrative livelihood. In recognition of his yeomen services the Maharashtra Chief Minister Sri Prithvi Raj Chawan had conferred on him “Dairy Farmer Award (National Level) in Krishi Vasanth held at Nagapur on Feb-11.
Several village elders praised Sri Narasimharao’s untiring efforts and in their brief talks on the occasion, they acknowledged his peerless services in the region. The “KRISHI SRI”, as he was honoured with a title, started his vision of Dairy Culture way back in 1984-85 with just one cow. His cumulative perseverance has ended up to date in nearly 600 cows and buffalos, the towering strength of his integrated Bio-gas plant which produces power, bio-gas for cooking, bio-fertilizers for a vegetable farm, etc. His biogas plant is credited to be the largest in Andhra Pradesh, which produces 400 Metric tons of vermin compost and bio fertilizers per year, besides 100KV electricity everyday.
In order to spread the awareness of Scientific Dairy Farming Sri Narasimha Rao conducted quality training for aspiring local dairy farmers for 90 days, providing free lodging and boarding on campus.
His efforts bore fruit as even the educated youth took to dairy farming with economically viable satellite dairy units. For this establishment he even helped them in procuring bank loans worth Rs. 4 crores.
In his message Sri Narasimharao affirmed that every village could be self reliant if the wastage and droppings from the cattle were properly made use of. He added that rural households should not depend on government help if they followed his methods of raising cattle in a scientific manner.
All the village elders from Payakaraopet Mandal and Tuni Mandal, Farmers were present on the occasion. All the staff members of Sri Prakash teaching and non teaching were proud to be an active part of the grand occasion.
