Taking the students of class 10 to a nearby place of educational importance as part of Yatra is a custom in Sri Prakash. This year 2018 we took the students to Visakhapatnam. Our trip consisted of visiting places of T.U-142M aircraft museum, submarine museum, ThotlaKonda the Buddist site and the Hindu press . The TUPOLEV TU -142 the decommissioned fighter aircraft of the Indian Navy was displayed as a museum which was opened by Sri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, C.M, A.P.
All about the aircraft and the crew were explained by the guide to the children. Later we visited the sub marine museum where the guide explained how navigation takes place. As it was lunch time, we had a delicious feast at Hotel Daspalla where the children enjoyed the delicacies and their favourite ice cream. From there, we directly reached ThotlaKonda the place where the Buddisists lived at about 300B.C. The children were excited to see the constructions by Buddist monks .
After visiting the Thotlakonda, we headed towards the Hindu press. The General Manager Mr. Vijay Ram Raju made a PPT presentation on the history of The Hindu and also has showed how the paper gets printed, and the technology used on computer also was demonstrated. The Children were filled with tremendous happiness as their trip has completely knowledge oriented and made them aware of many new things.
