True leadership is not about being in charge, but about empowering others.

I, Anjani Gollapalli, started my journey as the Student Principal of Sri Prakash Junior College on Teachers’ Day. The selection process began with an interview, where I was asked a few questions about leadership, discipline, and the responsibilities of a principal. I also had to write an essay on the responsibilities of a principal. It was a little difficult at first as I was nervous and unsure about how I would perform. But I gave my best, and after the selection process, I was happy to know that I had been chosen as the Student Principal.

On Teachers’ Day, I reached the college early in the morning. I wore formal clothes and entered the campus as the Principal. I interacted with the students and teachers, and observed the classes. I also had the opportunity to sit in the Principal’s cabin, where important decisions are taken. It was a proud and exciting moment for me, but at the same time I felt the weight of the responsibility. I realised how much effort goes into managing a college and how the principal has to care for both students and teachers.

This experience taught me many valuable lessons. I understood that a good leader should be responsible, patient, confident, and approachable. I also got to see the hard work and dedication of our teachers and the principal. It made me respect them even more. I learned how important communication, problem solving, and decision making are in a leadership role. This experience gave me a lot of confidence and also helped me discover a new side of myself.

I will always be grateful for this opportunity. It was not just an event for me, but a beautiful experience that taught me about leadership, responsibility, and the value of teamwork.

Being a student principal also improved my communication skills and helped me build stronger relationships with my teachers and classmates. I understood the importance of listening to others, respecting different opinions, and working together for a common goal. This experience has motivated me to continue developing my leadership qualities and to contribute positively to my college and society in the future.

“A true leader is not the one who commands, but the one who motivates others.”
