As part of the Parent Interaction and Motivation Program, the school invited Sri G Dasu Babu, community coordinator Velugu programme and father of G. Nanditha of Grade IX, to motivate and inspire the students through his valuable experience.
During his interaction, he spoke about Self Help Groups (SHGs) – how they are formed, how they function, and how they help women achieve financial independence. He highlighted that women empowerment is increasing every day through SHG activities and shared that he is also actively associated with SHG initiatives.
He shared the inspiring success story of the SHG members in Thimmapuram near Thetagunta, who started a small-scale industry by reusing used flowers to make agarbatti and dhoop sticks. This innovative idea brought financial support to many women and promoted recycling and sustainability.
He also explained about banking services utilised by SHG members, their savings, teamwork, and loans to improve economic resources. He emphasized that group activities provide extra information and support to each member. Through shared ideas and discussions, everyone learns more than they could individually. This develops confidence, leadership, problem-solving skills, and social growth.
He then connected this idea to students’ learning in the classroom, explaining that when students work in groups for projects, experiments, and classroom activities, they share ideas, divide responsibilities, help one another, and learn new methods.
He interacted personally with every student—especially those whose mothers are part of SHGs—and encouraged them to support and motivate their mothers to use banking services effectively and grow economically.
Overall, the session was motivational, enriching, and practical, helping students understand the values of teamwork, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and women empowerment.
