पादं सब्रह्मचारिभ्यः पादं कालक्रमेण च ॥”
A student learns one-fourth from the teacher, one-fourth through personal intelligence and effort, one-fourth from peers, and the final one-fourth through life experiences.
True education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. Guest faculty enrich the academic environment by introducing students to specialised knowledge, practical experiences, and fresh perspectives. They bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, inspiring curiosity and critical thinking.
It was our privilege to welcome the renowned Sanskrit scholar and poet Dr. Sanjeev Roy. Born in Uttar Pradesh, he developed a deep passion for Sanskrit from childhood. He completed his M.A. from Banaras Hindu University as a gold medalist and later earned his Ph.D. For nearly three decades, he has not only dedicated himself to teaching and promoting the beauty of Sanskrit but also serving as a full-time worker of the “Sanskrita Bharati” organization wholeheartedly to the service of Sanskrit.
His mission has taken him to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the United States, where he has worked to spread awareness of the language and its rich cultural heritage.
Dr. Roy is also an accomplished author, and his literary work “Pāpasya Phalam” is included in our Intermediate First-Year syllabus. Meeting the author of a prescribed lesson was a particularly memorable experience for us.
Despite the language barrier, he communicated with remarkable clarity and connected easily with students. His interaction was not merely an academic lecture but an inspiring lesson in dedication, perseverance, culture, and lifelong learning.
He concluded with the powerful message:
“SANSKRITAM JĪVANA MĀRGAḤ” — “Sanskrit is a path of life.”
His words will remain a lasting source of inspiration for us.
