Students of class IX went on a field trip to Betel fields at Aratlakota on 1-2-2019.Sri N.Suryanarayana, hosted our students and staff and showed the fields of betel climbers. He explained about the two types of betel leaves 1. Kavataku 2. Papataku. He showed our students the black soil, which is suitable for growing betel leaves. He also explained how cultivation is done in the month of August and reaping in the month of January. He revelaled the various medicinal values of betel leaves and the process of growing them and the medication given to the climbers when affected from “Yerrategulu”. He also informed about the prices and transportation of betel leaves bundles to other states.
As a part of the trip, our prakashites visited Oruguntalamma temple in Aratlakota. They were taught the history of the temple and the value of the idol. Our students came to know the celebrations of the temple and the days on which processions of the Goddess are held. Students were really blessed to have such divine trip.
