All the students from grade VI to X were geared up to read a book of their choice on 6th September, the ‘National Read a Book Day’. The language teachers made a plan for the students to read in language periods in the library. Special emphasis was layed on reading a book in Hindi keeping in view the problems faced by the students in reading Hindi. The students were allowed to pick book of their choice, read it for 20 minutes noting down their points of observation. they were given a starter sentence, “ Maine aaj...... pusthak Padi”. Each student had to give a brief description of the content read in Hindi after starting with the starter sentence. Then they had to give the meanings of two new words they learnt while reading. This exercise helped the students go for a right of reading with proper learning out come. Students of all the 15 sections enjoyed the day reading books.
