As a part of yatra we went to Weaver’s Co-Operative society in Mangavaram road P.R.Prata. Children observed the weaving looms which are made of wood. Nearly 15 looms are there in one hall. On each loom 2 people are weaving a sari it comes under the cottage industry. Here they are weaving only silk saris. They get the colours from Benarus & Pddapuram.Spinning the cloth by pulling a rope up& down to get tightness. They arranged 2 thin long sticks across the cloth. Children observed carefully how those people are weaving by inter weaving the warp and weft threads. To make one sari it takes 8 to 10 days. Children understood the hard and creative work of weavers in weaving silk and handloom sarees
