Our Class 2 students enjoyed an exciting, joyful, and educational field trip to a nearby supermarket. The visit gave children a wonderful hands-on learning experience about measurements, money, and shopping.
The students carefully observed different sections of the supermarket, including fruits, vegetables, groceries, toys, and household items. They identified products sold in grams (g), kilograms (kg), litres (L), and millilitres (ml). They also learned to read price tags and compare the prices of different products.
The children actively practised purchasing items using money. They identified coins and currency notes, calculated the cost of simple items, and understood the importance of paying the correct amount. They also observed how billing is done at the checkout counter.
The supermarket staff Mr. Anil patiently explained product labels, expiry dates, packaging, and the importance of choosing fresh, healthy, and good-quality products. The students were curious, enthusiastic, attentive, and confident throughout the visit. They asked thoughtful questions and eagerly participated in every activity.
The field trip made learning practical, meaningful, and enjoyable. It helped students develop observation skills, mathematical thinking, communication skills, and confidence in real-life situations. It was truly a memorable, informative, and enriching experience for everyone.
