The food sharing day 2022 was very special as we welcome to the new year with wonderful presentations on millets with the title , MIRACLE MILLETS. While the play ground at Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan filled with the aroma of mouth watering dishes, the huge wall at the back drop of the celebrations became vibrant with all the colours of charts on millets in display .
The children not only brought the cuisines of different kinds items reflecting the culture of our Indian tradition but also every student actively participated in gathering millets. They gathered seven kinds of millets like Jowar millets , Foxtail millets, Little millets, pearl millets, Kodo millets, finger millets and Proso millets . Children were served Little millets’ Payasam too.
They presented the details on each millet - health benefits of seven major millets, the places where they are grown , favourable conditions for growing etc. They also addressed the gathering the recipes of those millets. They left an indelible mark of miracle millets among the children.
Cultural activities took place in the afternoon session. Many children exploded their hidden talents on the stage. Group Dances, Veena playing pads, and keyboard playing grabbed the audience attention. Children had a wonderful experience on the last day of the year .
