“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think”. With this intention, an educational institution was established in 1977 with the name of Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan which now has many branches. It has a tradition to celebrate Foundation Day to remember this memorable milestone every year. As a part of it, 46th Foundation day of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions was celebrated on 18th and 19th August 2022 on a grand scale.
This year, the melodious musical show Gata Rahe Mera Dil,
which is conducted as a part of the festivities had a vibrant angle as this edition was dedicated to the legendary playback singers, Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar and Gaana Gandharva SP Bala Subrahmanyam.
Altogether there had been 23 contestants in the junior category and 13 contestants in the seniors representing from various branches of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions such as Tuni, Payakaraopeta, Rajahmundry, Peddapuram and Kakinada.
The audience enjoyed with many euphonious lyrics as the participants mesmerized them with their songs. Master P.Puneeth of class 7th had given unforgettable music by playing Keyboard which became the special attraction for the event. Mrs. P Malavika, noted playback singer of Tollywood who was the chief guest, beguiled the audience with her live performance. Similarly, Sri. A. S. John, noted flutist and Sri. A.Satya Vishal, a gifted violinist were the juries, made the audience spellbound with their live performances.
K. Chandana of class IX, Ch. Vinuthna Priyatham of class X and Jeslene Drakshika of class VIII SPVN (CBSE) Payakaraopeta got through the first round of singer’s choice to enter the finals on day 2 on 19th August. In the final rounds, Jeslene Drakshika with her mellifluous voice and uncompromising perfection, stood as the Winner and K. Chandana stood as 2nd Runner up with her melodic voice. The gathering of students, parents, guests and the staff enjoyed the programme thoroughly which became a feast to their eyes and ears.
