Students of Sri Prakash, cbse, prpeta visited recently submarine museum on 10-2-2019 in vizag. Students were very much excited to know the details of INS Kursura which was a Kalvari-class diesel-electric submarine of the India’s fifth one, was commissioned on 18th dec, 1969 and was decommissioned on 27th feb, 2001 after 31 years of service. And now it has been serving as a museum at R.K.Beach in Visakhapatnam.
The INS Kursura, played a vital role in indo-pak war in 1971. It had 7 compartments which consisted of missile and landmines. Indian government spent 6 crores to bring it back to the shore at the span of 1½ yrs.
Students asked various questions to the guide who answered them clearly. They posed more number of questions to fulfill their quench.
