As part of our school curriculum, we have taken our 5th class children of brick factory. Children observed the process of making bricks.
Bricks are prepared from clay. The worker mixed water, husk and fibre into and made the clay paste. This paste of clay is put in to rectangular wooden moulds and spread on an even surface. The wet bricks were dried in the sun, and then arranged in several rows in a kiln. The space between the rows of bricks is filled with charcoal, wood and husk and then it is lighted and allowed to burn for a few days .Baking makes bricks strong and resistant to water.
