Prakashites have celebrated National Sports Day in a splendid manner this year to remember and to recollect the hockey wizard of India, Major Dhyan Chand. National Sports Day, or Rastriya Khel Divas, is an annual observance that falls on August 29 the day on which Dhyan Chand was born. Major Dhyan Chand played a crucial role in India’s gold medal victory at the Olympics three consecutive times – 1928, 1932, and 1936 and inspired all Indians so that we have incorporated sports and physical activities into our day to life. On this grand occasion, Prakashites have participated in throw ball and Volleyball in different levels. The Chief Guest Dr. K. Veerraju expressed that healthy body has a health soul so that we must play out door games to strength our power. He further stated that One should have Fear, Devotion and Responsibility to achieve goals. Our Senior Principal Sri. M. V. V. S. Murthy encouraged students with his memorized words to inject about the goodness of Dhyan Chand. Winners of various games and sports would be given away the prizes. All the Prakashites have very joyfully enjoyed this event.
