The Sankranti celebration in Sri Prakash is a true manifestation of our rich culture and traditions. Sankranti is the most auspicious festival in Hindu culture which is the mark of the transition of the Sun into makara sign. Students dressed in traditional attire and explained the importance of bogi,Sankranti, kanuma, bhogipallu etc. Students participated in cultural activities like singing and dancing around the bonfire. Bhogi pallu, bommala kolavu, gangireddu, Haridas, sweet pongali was cooked in pots. Bullock carts, Sodamma etc. Students showed their innovative and artistic sides by making kites of vibrant and glittering colours. We did call parents also to inspire them, inculcate traditions and culture among their children from childhood. The celebration reflected the village atmosphere, it reached crescent and the students had the audience spell bound.
