CBSE Class X students made a field trip to Old Age Home (Sai Anna Purna Old Age Home, Pentakota Road, Tuni) on 16th july, 2016. It was a wonderful experience for them to interact with the elderly residents who were left out and sent out by their own children. Around 145 students took part in this. Almost every student interacted with an old man or lady. There are around 30 old people staying in that home. Each and every elderly person shared their experiences and how their children treated them in the houses with our students. They explained every situation that they faced at home with our students by tears rolling on their eyes. Such worst stories are like
1.One old lady’s son and daughter-in-law are Doctors. One day her daughter-in-law forced her son to beat his mother. So, he beat her and his mother’s teeth were broken.
2.Another story is that one old man has four sons. All were doing well and earning well but they didn’t want this old man so they left him here. They said they want to enjoy their privacy. So, this old father became an obstacle in their personal life. Like these, there are many more sad stories behind those old faces. But still, they felt happy by looking at the children and they shared their life with us.
Our students collected some money voluntarily and arranged food and gifted two ceiling fans to them. All the students took lunch with the residents, took photos with them, sang songs for them, swept their rooms and supported them to sit in chairs in veranda.Finally, students moved from that place by tears rolling from their eyes, waving hands to say bye and all of them took a strong oath that they should see that their parents should not come to such places forever. It is a heart touching experience for everyone. Students came to a practical life and experienced the people and their rudeness.
