Field trip to dairy and milk chilling center, at Sri Prakash Educational Society, P.L.Puram. As part of curriculum, the students of class VIII - Sri Pakash Vidyaniketan,Tuni , visited the Dairy and milk chilling center, at Sri Prakash Educational Society, P.L.Puram on 7th September. The Students interacted with the caretakers at the plant and knew the following things.
• Identifying various kinds of cows, their food styles with respect to their milking capacity.
• Understanding the process and timings of milking.
• The necessity of cutting grass?
• The necessity of keeping the surroundings clean?
• Various breeds of cows and buffaloes.
• Process of making mild into curd ( scientifically)
• Process of pasteurization, cheesing, chilling, packing and transporting.
• Huge process handled by few persons with meticulous planning.
• Further utilization of waste from the dairy.
The field trip turned out to be great enlightenment to the students. Some of the students may become agriculture veterinary professionals later in their career.
