Students explored different types of worship and understood the importance of worship. As part of the field trip, Class I children visited various places of worship. First, they visited the Vara Mahalakshmi Temple. There, the children observed the idol of Goddess Lakshmi Devi. The priest explained that Hindus visit temples to offer prayers and worship. They celebrate different festivals such as Varalakshmi Vratam, Dussehra, and Diwali. Temples are beautifully decorated with flowers and lights during these festivals. Next, they visited a church. The children observed the statue of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible. The father explained that Christians come to church to offer prayers. They celebrate Christmas on 25th December every year. During this time, churches and Christmas trees are decorated with balloons, stars, and bells, and people share sweets with relatives and friends. Later, they visited a mosque. The children observed how Muslims offer prayers. The Imam explained that Muslims all over the world fast during Ramzan (Roza). They do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset. People pray more, read the Quran, and do good deeds like helping others. Through this trip, the children learned that people of different religions go to different places of worship.
