children understand better when they visit the work place than in the four wall of classroom. To witness this, students of class -7 visited handlooms at Bendapudi as a part of Field trip. Weaver Nageswarao elaborated the whole process involved in weaving a saree like - Boiling, Dyeing, Spinning, Street Sizing of yarn...etc. Weaver Venkata Ramana explained what is warp & weft and how they intersect each other. Another weaver Laxmi expressed the problems they face because of tough competition, change of fashion, trend, scarcity of raw materials and involvement of middle man. She also quoted " one should have taste/interest to wear such silk/cotton clothes made on handlooms.
