Patriotism unites people and fills hearts with pride and purpose. National festivals like Independence Day revive this spirit and inspire all to work together for the nation’s peace and progress.
The campus of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Annavaram was filled with patriotic pride today as the 79th Independence Day was celebrated with tremendous enthusiasm and grandeur. Students gathered in large numbers, warmly greeting one another and proudly taking part in the celebrations.
The event began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by loud and spirited renditions of the National Anthem.
The Chief Guest of the occasion, Shri Donkada Giri — retired Principal of Sri Satya Deva Junior College and an administrator of the Lions Club — delivered an inspiring address. Encouraging students to aim high, he beautifully quoted Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam:
“Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action.”. He reminded students of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters, and cited the example of Mahatma Gandhi, who led the nation to independence through the powerful weapon of non-violence. He emphasized the importance of independent thinking and the need to develop confidence and self-belief.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. Adapa Ramakrishna Reddy — Principal of SPAES Degree College, Payakaraopeta — highlighted that India is blessed with talented and energetic youth. He called upon the students to recognise their potential and work earnestly towards their goals, as the nation’s future rests in their hands.
In his address, the Headmaster of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Annavaram ,Sri DLP Raju spoke about the real meaning of freedom. He reminded students that true independence is not just the absence of foreign rule, but the ability to stand on one’s own feet and make responsible choices. He also emphasized self-reliance, one of the five core values of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions.

With hearts filled with pride and patriotic fervour, the students left the campus inspired by the values of courage, unity, and dedication to the nation.
