LOC: Students explored the different types of worship and understood the importance of worship.
As part of the field trip, class – 2 children visited the places of worship. First they visited a church. There the children observed the statue of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible. The Pastor explained that Christians come to church to offer prayers, they celebrate the festival Christmas on 25th December every year, at that time they decorate the churches and Christmas tree with balloons, stars and bells and they distribute sweets to relatives and friends. Next they visited Vara Mahalakshmi temple. There the children observed the idol of Goddess Lakshmi Devi. The priest explained that Hindus come to temples to worship. They celebrate different festivals like Varalakshmi vratam, Dussehra, Diwali etc. They decorate the temples during festivals with flowers and lights.
The children came to know that basing on their religion we go to different places of worship. This trip made them understand the tradition and culture of different religions.
