Today our students of Grade – 4 & 5 CBSE- Tuni were taken to small scale units of a Timber Depot and a rice mill. Students observed three different types of machines in Timber Depot such as a horizontal machine for cutting timber into horizontal slices, a vertical machine for cutting timber into vertical slices and a dressing machine. In the rice mill, the students understood that the rice mill is a food processing factory where paddy is processed to rice to be sold in the market. They explored different types of simple machines that make the work easier. They also had a good interaction with the people who are working over there. By the end of the trip students realised that the small scale industries run with less money, less man power and in a small place.
