Students of class 8 visited Sri Venkata Satya Sai rice mill- Annavaram that was established in 1920 by Marneedi Narasimharao garu as a part of crop production and management. Sri Sathibabu garu, owner of the mill explained the processing, packing and storage of rice and the steps involved before packing like separation of soil particles, removal of husk, polishing (removal of barn).After polishing ,rice is mixed with dried neem leaves for avoiding pests and bag them in jute bags.
As students already learnt different agricultural practices involved in crop production, this visit made them aware of the final steps involved in agricultural practices i.e. processing and storage.
