National Girl Child Day Celebration - 2025
SPACES Degree College organized a meaningful event on 24th January 2025. The main objective of the celebration was to promote gender equality, create awareness about the importance of girls’ education, and highlight the need for empowerment and safety of the girl child. A preparatory meeting was held in advance to discuss and finalize the plans for the programme.
During the planning meeting, the team decided to invite Smt. G. Sowjanya, ICDS Supervisor, as the Guest of Honour for the event. The agenda included organizing an awareness programme that would inspire and educate students on key issues related to the well-being and rights of girl children. All members unanimously agreed on the importance of hosting such an event to encourage a more inclusive and informed campus environment.
On the day of the event, the college welcomed Smt. G. Sowjanya, who was warmly received by Dr. V.V.S.B. Bangarraju, Dean; Dr. A. R.K. Reddy, Principal; Dr. A.K. Tripathy, IQAC Coordinator; P. Ch. V. Subbarao, Vice Principal, and members of Women Empowerment Cell. The Guest of Honour addressed the gathering and interacted with the girl students, emphasizing the significance of gender equality and the importance of maintaining good health through nutritious food. Her speech was both informative and inspiring, motivating the students to strive for confidence, independence, and awareness of their rights.
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony in honour of the guest, appreciating her efforts and dedication to the cause of girl child welfare. The celebration was a great success, leaving a lasting impact on the students and reinforcing the college’s commitment to promoting empowerment and equal opportunities for all.
