About Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a medical system evolved in the Indian Subcontinent through traditional and invaluable knowledge of usage and properties of various medicinal plants, herbs, flowers, roots of plants and minerals. It is practiced and is still being practiced till date in the Indian Subcontinent. Its roots are very deep penetrating even to the regular household kitchen which starts from the use of turmeric for various issues. It is a very ancient method of treatment practiced by Indians through knowledge gained from interpreting Taala Patra Granthas, passage of traditional knowledge of use of various herbs from generation to generation and so on.
The Science of Ayurveda is mainly dependent on treating the imbalances in the Doshas viz., Vaata Dosha, Pitta Dosha and Kapha Dosha. All the three Doshas are concerned with governing the metabolism and transformation of human body. When all the three doshas are in perfect balance, then the human body is said to be in perfect shape, balance and health. This helps us in being fit and active in our daily lives.
Treating the imbalance in the three doshas is very essential to maintain overall health and balance in the human body because such an imbalance, which is caused by various reasons like accumulation of impurities in the body which is called as ‘Aama’, sedentary lifestyle, taking too much junk food etc., can alter the normal and orderly functions of human body which in turn causes cellular level degeneration due to continuous accumulation of ‘Aama’ causing dreadful diseases like Cancer and other degenerative disorders. The level of pollution caused by various elements have Gene altering capabilities which disrupts the normal functions of the human body. Hence, elimination of this ‘Aama’ is very essential to maintain ‘Ojas’ which is the life saving energy at cellular level that helps in maintaining balance in the human body system further controlling this degeneration caused by various pollutants. This can be achieved through regular exercise, practicing yoga etc. In Ayurveda also it can achieved through ‘Panchakarma Treatments’ along with other impurity elimination treatments. ‘Panchakarma Treatments’ are unique and life rejuvenating techniques which are a part of Ayurveda and are very essential and useful in eliminating ‘Aama’ i.e., impurities from the body and restoring of the ‘ojas’ i.e., life saving energy at cellular level that ultimately helps in restoring and maintaining order in the human body enabling the cells to function appropriately.
Panchakarma treatments helps in treating and maintaining a lot of lifestyle diseases which include arthritis, spinal problems (slip disc, spondylitis etc.), diabetes, weight loss, hair loss treatment etc. In this present paradigm, there is not only the problem of increasing life style diseases but identifying the right Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner is also very essential and an intricate task. This is the very reason that many people are put in a predicament situationwhere, identifying the right Ayurvedic Doctor who has a very wide and better knowledge and experience in giving Panchakarma Treatments for rejuvenation of the body and in turn life has become exhausting and challenging.
In India, Ayurveda is considered a form of medical care, equal to conventional Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathic medicine, and homeopathic medicine. Practitioners of Ayurveda in India undergo state-recognized, institutionalized training. Currently, Ayurvedic practitioners are not licensed in the United States, and there is no national standard for Ayurvedic training or certification. However, Ayurvedic schools have gained approval as educational institutions in some states.
