Reliance Industries Limited, in collaboration with the District Education Department organized the Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Quiz 2024 for students from both government and private schools in Kakinada, East Godavari. The quiz was open to students in grades 8 to 10 and covered topics in General Knowledge, World and Indian History, and Current Affairs, in addition to their regular curriculum. M. Harini of 9th Einstein and L. Sai Bhuvanesh of 8th SPAES rode to Success by winning 3rd prize in Reliance Quiz competition. They were honoured with cycles and certificates. The audio-visual quiz was conducted at Ambedkar Bhavan in Kakinada on 7th December, 2024.640 students from 160 high schools participated in this prestigious Quiz Programme. The event was conducted to mark the birth anniversary of Reliance Industries’ founder-chairman Dhirubhai Ambani as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Students always evince their unquenchable amount of thirst for knowledge. Having gone through the lesson 'The Story of Palampur Village', in which students learn about the growth of Palampur as a self-reliant village with its industries, students wanted to know whether such village exist within our vicinity. To quench their thirst, Sri Prakash conducted a visit to S. Narasapuram village what is known for its foam and coir mattress industry, CC Mattresses Private Limited. This industry is owned by Sri. Kishore Chakka, an entrepreneur based in Tuni.  Students of grade VIII and IX actively took part in it.
How jubilant our student world when they got firsthand information on making coir and foam mattress. Students learnt how villages can grow with the help of non-farming activities like foam bed industry. Their live interaction with Mr. R. Alok Kumar, manager, brought life to their knowledge. They learnt the process of making foam bed which includes vulcanization of natural husk of coconut into rubberised coir. As a part of vulcanization, the natural coir is treated with latex and other chemicals like potassium, zink etc. to protect it from bio risks. The process includes punching and pressing under drums and hydraulic press. Students learnt how a farm product (coconut) supports the growth of non-farming industries like coir bed, jaggery, processed food etc.

Grade VII students embarked on a field trip to a small-scale industry located in Ramakrishna Colony, where they witnessed the art of sweet and snack making. The owner, Mr. Kanakam Durga Prasad, graciously hosted the students, providing a step-by-step explanation and demonstration of the production process. From sourcing locally available raw materials to utilizing machinery that simplifies the process, the students gained valuable insights into the industry's operations.
The industry not only provides employment opportunities to local women but also offers a daily wage ranging from ₹300 to ₹500. The packed food items are supplied to nearby villages, Tuni, and even distant cities like Vizag and Rajahmundry. The industry's diverse product range includes groundnut laddus, chekodi , mixture, bundi, jantukalu, and chekkalu, among others.
On a daily basis, the industry produces 22-30 boxes per item, utilizing 100 kilograms of flour in the process. The mechanical process employed by the industry has significantly enhanced productivity while reducing manual labour requirements.
The students had a wonderful time as they moved along the space enjoying the sweet smell of fresh jaggery, and crispy mumure and chegodies that filled the air. 
They also learnt the humbleness of Sri. Durga prasad as he explained his intention of providing employment opportunity to the women folk of his village.

'Farming is Profitable' says our today's guest Mr. Ashok Kumar. Talking on the topic whether we should show sympathy towards farmers, he said farming can be more profitable than any other industries.    He quoted a papaya farmer who became a millioneer within a span of year with just one acre of land. 
He enlightened the students about various farming techniques like subsistent, intensive, extensive and commercial farming. 
Highlighting the importance of food safety, he cited the example of Bengal famine which caused the death of 30 lakh civilians and led to the establishment of Food Corporation of India by central govt. He said FCI godowns store enough food supplies that can meet the needs of people for 3 years even if droughts and famines disturb us.
He guided the students on different courses that could be pursued to get jobs in agricultural sector. At this juncture he highlighted how skill development surpasses gaining knowledge.
His famous quote 'farming is healthy, wealthy and flexible' grabbled the students' attention. His 1 1/2-hour speech was well-received by grade 8 and 9 students. 
As a token of thanks, he was given a memento and a book bouquet.

Dr Ravi Kiran, Pediatrician and Neonatologist, Area Hospital, Tuni, visited our school as Atithi for grade viii and ix students. He was invited to bring out better awareness on 'Human Resources in the Health care sector 'a lesson in social studies His insightful session captivated class 8 and 9students as he addressed critical topics impacting children's well-being.
Dr. Ravikiran began by throwing light on the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), explaining its significance as a health indicator and emphasizing the importance of preventive measures to reduce Infant Mortality Rate. He highlighted the role of early medical interventions, and proper immunization.
Addressing the issue of malnutrition, he explained its long-term effects on a child’s physical and cognitive development. Dr. Ravikiran encouraged students to adopt balanced diet and avoid nutritional deficiencies. He also introduced the concept of Body Mass Index (BMI), explaining how it helps assess an individual's health based on their weight and height, and stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy BMI through proper nutrition and regular physical activity.
The harmful effects of junk food were a focal point of his talk. He highlighted how excessive consumption of processed foods can lead to obesity, diabetes, and other lifestyle diseases, urging students to make healthier food choices.
And also discussed the dangers of self-medication. He emphasized that taking medicines without a doctor’s advice can lead to adverse reactions, drug resistance, and serious health complications.
Finally, he spoke about the Universal Immunization Program (UIP) and the vaccines it covers, including BCG, DPT, and OPV, which protect children from life-threatening diseases. He urged students to ensure timely vaccinations for their children.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where Dr. Ravikiran answered queries from students and staff. The school management expressed gratitude for his invaluable contribution to promoting health awareness and presented him a memento.

Dr. P. Renuka, a Senior dentist in Bharat dental hospital, Tuni visited our School as Atithi and conducted an awareness session for students of classes VI and VII as part of their lesson from General Science. She explained about protection of Teeth Layers and discussed the importance of enamel, dentin, and pulp in maintaining oral health.
Dr. Renuka also suggested proper brushing techniques. She demonstrated the correct way to brush the upper jaw and lower jaw to ensure thorough cleaning.
She addressed the effects of Junk Food, highlighting how junk food damages teeth and emphasized on healthy eating habits.
The session aimed to instil good oral hygiene practices among students.
The students eagerly raised many questions on the issues like decaying of teeth, shedding of milk teeth, brushing practices etc and the dentist gave a detailed explanation for each of their queries making the programme a great success.

Once the spirited celebrations of Inter school competitions through the Rim Zim -2024 were over, Students ventured into celebrations conducted outside the school, one of which was the 57th National Library Week celebrations conducted from November 14th to 20th by District Library Institution, Tuni.

Competing with students from other schools in and around Tuni, students of Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, High school, Tuni, excelled in various literary competitions.

 There were events such as drawing, quiz, elocution and essay writing, in two categories Juniors and Seniors to showcase their talents.

 In the Junior category, R. Shanmukha Priya, Grade VI secured first place in the drawing competition.   L. Sai Bhuvanesh, Grade VIII, A. Bhuvan Srinivas, Grade VII and M. Kohil Sai, Grade VI bagged the first place in quiz. Additionally, in Senior category, S. Rajesh Grade X stood in third place in the essay writing competition.

The winners were congratulated and appreciated with mementoes and prizes.

As part of their experiential learning journey, grade 8 students visited a jaggery-making unit in Srirampuram. The hosts, Sri. Mandapati Satyanarayana Raju and his brothers warmly welcomed the students and shared their expertise on traditional, chemical-free jaggery production.
The students gained hands-on knowledge about the jaggery-making process, as well as insights into natural farming practices, sugarcane juice production, and cocoa plantation which was an intercrop in the coconut farm. They learned about the benefits of using natural materials like cow dung, cow urine, decomposed leaves, and earthworms as alternatives to chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
During their visit to the paddy field, along with Sri Raju Garu students realised the advantage of natural farming over conventional farming using chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Production of around 13,00 kilograms of rice per acre using eco-friendly methods gave the students a thought to realise the importance of natural farming.
The students expressed their gratitude to their hosts for sharing their knowledge and expertise, which broadened their understanding of sustainable farming practices. They presented a memento and books to Sri M Satyanarayana Raju and his brothers.

Unduru, November 17, 2024: The Jana Vignana Vedika organized the Chekumuki Science Sambaralu at MPP School, Unduru, fostering scientific curiosity and creativity among students. The event saw enthusiastic participation from young minds across the region.
In a neck and neck competition among 16 teams , the duo of  M. Kohil Sai , Grade VI and A. Bhuvan Srinivas, Grade VII from Sri Prakash Tuni,  proved themselves winning the 3 rd place at District Level in Juniors category.  Their innovative presentation was lauded for its creativity and depth.

The awards were presented by notable guests, Mr. Prabhakar Rao, a respected contractor, and Mr. Muralidhar Rao, CEO of Kakinada Port. The event served as an excellent platform to promote scientific thinking and encourage young talent.
