The Grade- 5 students had an exciting and educational field trip to the Municipal Office, Tuni. The purpose of the visit was to help children understand the role of the Municipal Office in maintaining our town and providing services to the people.
When the children reached the Municipal Office, they were warmly welcomed by the Municipal Chairperson Mrs. N. Bhuvana Sundari. She patiently answered the studentsβ questions and explained in simple words how the office works every day to serve the public.
Highlights of the Visit:
The children asked questions about cleanliness, water supply, street lights, waste collection and maintenance of public parks.
Mrs. N. Bhuvana Sundari explained that the Municipal Office takes care of roads, markets, schools, and health centres.
She also spoke about the importance of citizens paying taxes, because this money helps the Municipal Office provide services for everyone. The students learned how complaints are recorded and solved, like repairing a broken water pipe or fixing streetlights.
The Municipal Chairperson encouraged the children to become responsible citizens by keeping their surroundings clean and planting more trees.
The trip gave students a real-life experience of how local government works and how important it is for the smooth functioning of our community. The children returned to school with new knowledge and a better understanding of civic responsibility.
