 Rubella vaccination programme

The Me seals - Rubella vaccination programme under taken by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India was conducted successfully at SRI PRAKASH VIDYA NIKETAN, TUNI on 1st & 2nd of August, 2017 where students of classes nursery to X were given preventive vaccination. Conducted under the personal supervison of Dr.Rajasekar, Medical Officer, N.Suravaram this programme is an initiative by the government to give preventive vaccination for all the children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years.  Earlier the students were educated on the importance of the vaccine through circulars from the health departments and talks by the science teachers in the classes. A group of health workers administered the vaccine to the students. External observers deployed by WHO for MR Campaign, Dr.Vara Prasad and Dr.Bhavani too came to inspect the programme. They interacted with the students as Athidis and spoke on the need of prevention against diseases. Mr.Rajasekar who happens to be an alumni of Sri Prakash, Tuni was overwhelmed to visit the same school he studied and to receive the memento from his teacher Mr.Reddy. 

       With only 49 absentees out of 683 in High school level for the vaccination programme, the event was a huge success.
