Sri Prakash Educational Institutions take immense pride in hosting the prestigious three-day CBSE South Zone–1 Handball Championship, which concluded successfully on Monday. The championship witnessed the participation of more than 2,500 student athletes representing over 100 schools from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, competing in various age categories.
The championship provided an excellent competitive platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship. The enthusiastic participation of students from across the three states made the event a memorable celebration of sporting excellence and healthy competition.
Speaking at the valedictory ceremony, Sri Rithin Mohan Agarwal, NCC Group Commander, Kakinada, who attended the programme as the Chief Guest, emphasised the important role of sports in the holistic development of students. He observed that participation in sports promotes discipline, physical fitness, mental well-being, confidence and leadership qualities, while complementing academic education.
Smt. Anupama Agarwal, Guest of Honour, appreciated the commendable performances of the participating athletes and expressed particular satisfaction at the achievements of the girl students. She observed that the active participation and success of girls alongside boys reflected the growing prominence of women in sports. She conveyed her best wishes to all the athletes for continued success in their future sporting careers.
Addressing the gathering, Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash, Joint Secretary, Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, said that the championship provided young athletes with a valuable competitive platform to demonstrate their skills, discipline and sportsmanship. He congratulated the winners and all the students who qualified for the National-level competitions.
The students of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions brought laurels to the institution through their commendable performance in the Under-14 Boys' category, securing qualification for the National Championship. They will represent the region at the National-level Handball Championship to be held from October 9 to 14 at Kurukshetra, Haryana.
